Default which heads to choose?

I have a 2001 ss m6 with bolt ons (kooks dual, headers, intake) monster stg 2 clutch and 4.10's

I ordered the brute speed blower cam with the comp springs, oil pump, and timing chain and i was wondering if there is a good set of heads that would compliment the cam. around the $1000 range would be nice too. thanks for any help

Are you adding a blower in the future? I'm assuming you are bc you bought a blower cam, if so but some 317s and get them ported if your budget allows it..if not adding a blower than that cam doesn't make any sense...

I'd do the AI High Compression (HCR) option for the LS1 heads. It's 1195 + springs. The BTR Platinums would be my choice there. So about 1500.

With that blower cam, I think you want you your compression up as much as possible for it to drive well. Otherwise, it's a poor choice for NA.

If you intend to add a supercharger later, the regular AI port program for 995+springs would be good or the TSP/PRC Stage 1 LS6 Heads w/Springs would be good for about $1400.

Or you can get some ported 317 (6L heads) and lower your compression down some more. It'll be a dog on the street until you blow it. TSP has those in stock and AI and TEA can also port those if you have a core.

If you wait and save some more, the PRC heads have been showing amazing numbers. Granted I have a healthy cam and a 102/102 setup, I haven't seen or heard of anyone not getting great numbers from the PRC heads. Or, for another good budget option, try and find someone selling there LS6 heads off of there Z06.
