Default 5.3 swap

so i bought an 01 5.3 to go into my 99 z28. the ls1 spun a bearing.. so i bought the 5.3 to replace the ls1. im 99% sure the truck engine was an automatic. tell me if im correct, but to swap the 5.3 into my 6 speed z28 all i need to switch over the flywheel and pressure plate etc onto the 5.3 right and shouldnt have issues? please let me know, thanks!

Yeah should be fine if your just doing shortblock for shortblock..

But if your keeping the truck intake and injectors on the the 5.3 then I would recommend a slight tune.. Maybe a mail tune from frost..

I don't think that's even an option here, as the truck intake is too tall to fit in an F body.

If you have a block that was used in front of an auto trans, you might need a pilot shaft bearing that goes into the end of the crank.

Yes, you'll need to use the car oil pan, intake manifold, and accessories.

The 5.3 was never offered with a manual trans, so now you can be 100 percent sure it was an automatic. You will need to swap everything to the 5.3 as far as the flywheel and such, and install a pilot bearing. Everything else will bolt right up.
