Oil pickup line bolt spinning???

Default Oil pickup line bolt spinning???

Swapping oil pumps and ive been loosening this bolt for about an hour..

Its firm then lose all while turning but not comming out at all. (Yeah thats what she said)

Any clue whats going on?

the threads are stripped. try taking a very thin flat head screw driver, and pry up gently on the pick up tube or if you can the bolt. while prying up turn the bolt counter clock-wise. it might start backing out, but you are going to be doing some thread repair and likely with a heli-coil

I agree, however if you are swapping pumps you shouldn't have to repair any threads. Just make sure the chips don't go in the pan, they are aluminum and you can't get them out with a magnet. Try stuffing a thin clean rag under the area you are working to capture any chips that may fall.
