Default Part location help

I need some assistance in finding parts: I have a $600 budget right now, and so far I can only find a machine shop that will do the honing/reassembling for $300+ if i disassemble before bringing in. And that place was kinda shady sounding. Is putting the engine back together something I should attempt? The main thing I need is honing to remove rust from the cylinder wall. So far shopping around Ive found the below:

Engine stand for work at home: 60

Cherry picker for $180 from Northern tools:

And rings I found for $125

Now as for ring size, I should get the measurement after honing and get rings to that size correct?

If you have never assembled one I wouldn't recommend practing just yet..

I would research that before you start since you'll need a bunch of special tools and if you mess up and need to do something over it can get pricey really quickly..

If you have never worked on a engine internally before don't start experimenting now. That machine shop's prices seems a little low for machining and a reassembly. Do they do ls work often? If they never machined a ls motor I would not got there. Number one thing is do the research and make sure where you take your engine has a good reputation with ls motors.
