Default what all should be upgraded when doing a cam install?

i was thinking about getting a trick flow timing chain & gear, fast 39lb injectors and a texas speed v3 cam. is there anything else i should do when doing a cam install. also is the v3 cam a good choice? the car is not a daily driver it is a street/strip car. id like to be around 450+ hp.

Valve springs and hardened pushrods. Also, if you have a few miles on the car, you might want to replace the oil pump too. Personally, I'd tak a look at the Tick Performance cams.

I would do pushrods, valvesprings, timing chain, oil pump, and of course oil and gaskets. And +1 on contacting tickperformance. Theyve been very helpful in the past, and i just sent them an email today. Im also looking into getting a cam from them.

Might as well throw on a 25% UD pulley while you are at it

You might consider this cam, it's made 450+ in 2 different cars with stock LS6 heads and intake.

For most cam swaps that include the springs and pushrods I normally also do, oil pump, timing chain, lifters, gaskets, and sometimes a under drive pulley depending on application.

Also check out running the white top injectors out of 3.8L supercharged grand prix's and regals. Or you can have your injectors re-sized by Fuel Injector Connection.

here is one of many threads https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...n-upgrade.html

here is a video on how to do it

some say the summit brand is better.

Id definitely do the ls6 oil pump, ls2 timing chain, gaskets, pusbrods (hardened) and go ahead and slap double beehive valve springs. You can never be to safe. I've never used an underdrive pulley but I had a couple buddies that installed them and they say that it was a pointless part. A4 or m6? If a4 I recommend a big stall before you get a cam. Hopefully I helped!

thanks for the help i greatly appreciate it, the car is a m6. where is the best place to get the parts from as far as oil pump and timing chain? also when doing a cam in these engines does any places that sell cams already have pushrods that will work at the right length or for all of them do u have to measure when everything is done then order? reason i ask is i have only one day off a week so im trying to do everything possible to make this project go a little faster, ill either have to use a friends garage or wait till i move and get a garage which im looking to move very soon it just matters how long i can have the parts sitting around and not have the erge to pull the car apart. but if i use a friends garage i don't want to tie up his garage for a few weeks or month
