Default Flycutting Tool Rental

Okay, so I know Lindy has the best tool. But it's around 107 per cutter/stem. And I would need at least the exhaust cutter as well. I also understand you can get close to 50% back if you return it.

Brian Tooley rents the tool for a decent price.

Who else rents it and has it in stock?

I was going by old info. It's 88.50 and 34.50. So 123 for cutter/stem now. I went ahead and got them because you can get 50% back, and I can take my time and do it.

Let me know how it goes for you. I'm just going to buy them outright. Sell 'em when I'm done.

Ok, so w/ the Lindy tool, how does it keep you from cutting into the piston too deep? Also, how deep is recommended?

It has a stop collar on the stem. I'm going to set the intake at .080 and goto town. Probably .040 on the exhaust.

By my calculations, at 62cc (which is still 11.2:1 even with 1.5cc reliefs and 8.6:1 DCR - so no milling for me!) I have .005" clearance intake and .060" exhaust. .080/.100 is recommended but you could do .060 intake. After the flycut, I'd be at 85/100.

My old 230/234 114+2 cam had ~.045 intake. So it was a little too close without flycutting.

I still have to measure, but I'm willing to bet I'm within .010" either way.

Yeah, but that's like 5HP at most assuming I don't get any KR. 59cc gives me an 8.9:1 DCR.
