My ls1 is still running good just down in hp/tq I have blow by in some of the cylindes 4 an 6 is the most tho. It only has 82k miles on it rite now. Don't burn any oil ether I can't find any damn parts for lsx motor is kegs r summit to really get a price going on building a motor. Where can I view a 383 kit at?

All of our blocks are the updated later model Gen III blocks or Gen IV. We can build to suit and we do have warranties on all of our motors. Warranty will depend on the components used. Give us a call with any questions you have.

Hey Kyle, on the stock rebuild motors, what rods do you use? Do you use ARP rod bolts on them? I think the stock rods are plenty strong but I know the rod bolt is one area of concern (at least on the LS1).

Also, with the L33 aluminum blocks, do those use the 04+ all short head bolts or the earlier LS1 style long and short head bolts?

Jakefusion, We use GM rod bolts in our stock rebuilt motors. We use ARP in our aftermarket rod motors. We do not offer a rod bolt only upgrade as the stock rods are cracked making them impossible to re size.
The L33 blocks we use both 1st and 2nd design for head bolts. We have customer with a need for both designs so we can build either way depending on use.

I thought you could just use oversized rod bearings if there were issues with OoR? Because, I'm not sure you can machine a cracked rod...

The rod can be honed out and fitted with larger outside diameter rod bearings.

OK, you are right. It is possible to do but not cost effective enough for us to offer. It is not much of a jump in price to go to a nice aftermarket rod with ARP bolts included.

Agreed. I bought a set of scat I beams with 2k bolts for 300 shipped to my door. I was looking at 15 a rod to have the stock ones resized...
