Default Is this cam still useable? (pics included)

Looking at buying this cam used. I was told it was installed with a new oil pump because of an apparent oil issue the engine was having. after one dyno pull they realized there was also a bad lifter. Assuming the cam got torn up the guy bought new ported heads from TSP and a new bigger cam to accommodate the heads as well along with lifters, etc, basically a new top end. When they pulled this out there was a slight bit of wear on one lobe where the bad lifter was. These are the pics below I got. Not trying to be el cheapo here but if I can save a few bucks and get essentially a new cam ( was said to only have 30-45 seconds of run time on it) and the damage will not effect anything than why not save a few bucks for my budget build. I don't have enough experience or have ever dealt with something like this so kind of wanted to get some other opinions before I spent the money on it. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

Looks rough on that one lobe, I would stay away; looks like a lifter took a dump.

If the lifter wore into the surface like it appears to have in the pics its a gamble that may work out and save you a $100 bucks or may not work out and cost a lot more than that. I would error on the side of caution and buy a new cam. Saving money this way has bit me in the *** before.

I wouldn't touch it either. I find it hard to believe it did that much in 45 seconds. Leads me to wonder how it was assembled as well.

As previously stated, sometime saving a few costs a lot in the end. If this were something easily monitored and changed later I might risk it, but the cam requires a lot of work to swap so if this were to take a dump you are in for a lot of work not to mention any other parts taken out in the process.

Don't take one persons bad luck and make it yours. Don't take the cam!

The guy was real up front about it and the 30-45 second 1 dyno pull was the story I got. plus he was very fast to send me over the pics so just wanted to double check with some on here before I made a decision. its $150 off what it would cost new but that's chump change imo for the headache of having to do another cam swap not to mention the lost money on the cost of a junk cam as well. Ill stay away and keep looking or eventually just buy new. Thanks for the help guys, appreciate it.

Buy a new cam and save yourself the headache. You never know what issues can come up from a used cam unless you know the exact details of how it was run. Just like what OP posted with those pics, bad lifter = bad lobe, stay away!!

Unfortunately, they will likely sell it to someone who will install it rather than just scrapping it and chalking it up to experience.

I wouldn't run that in anything, throw it away and get a new cam.

With the cost of the billet cam core I'd at least send it to Bullet Cams and get
a regrind for like 150-175 bucks....I'm sure some other vendors can do the
same

How much money are we saving here? If you spend $150 for the cam, spend another $150-175 to have it "maybe fixed", you in it $300!!!

Buy a new cam, it may cost you more now, but do you want to be pulling it back it out later? Some things you should NOT buy used. They were pulled for a reason.
