a 200-300 shot w stock Rods......thats gonna end bad in a short fun time Im afraid......in 01 in F-Bodies they used bigger Rod Bolts, they just drilled and tapped the standared Rod out bigger for the Bolt....

I had a stock Long Block 99 Firehawk w a Cam Only (TSP MS4) in it and after 2 Sessions we ended up throwing #3 and 4 Rods out the block and the Oil Pan (was going to install K-Tech Rod Bolts 3 wks from the day this happened.....

RPM is what kills Rod Bolts say running 3-4k RPM down the Highway for hrs and hrs vs 1,200 rpm for the same amount of time.......the time doesnt matter the RPM ya spun the motor to for a good amount of time theey dont like.

ALSO they (stock gm Rod Bolts) dont like anything north of 6800.....

your stock rods arnt going to take a 200-300 shot NO MATTER what Rod bolts ya put in them...

This is great information guys!! Just want to confirm the info stated in this post. If upgrading from stock LS1/6 pistons and rings to Mahle forged, I can keep the stock rods and bolts and be fine up to 6800rpm on a high lift cam like the Polluter V2 or TorqMaxx?

Or should I at least upgrade the bolts?

Trying to shave costs on an engine rebuild, but I know for a high lift high rev engine with high compression I should at minimum upgrade to mahle pistons and rings?

All 02s have this from what I've been told. And I believe most if not all 01s. At the very least they have the LS6 block and rod bolts. Everything else is the same anyway. Just the cam, heads, valves, and valvesprings were different, but then we are talking longblock, and I certainly wasn't in my original post.
Just tryin to remember. The last 3 of my casting in my 02 was 378. I believ when I looked it up it said LS1 block.
