Default cracked cap misalignment issues

I have an 06 aluminum 5.3L. I'm having an issue with aligning the cap on one rod! I can take the piston out and torque the cap and its better but still not perfect. But if I try to torque it on the rod journal, it is way off. Like .010". What can I do to get this problem resolved? Do I need a new rod?

If I remember correct since the "cracked" rods aren't parallel to begin with the cant be re machined, but a machinist will chime in

You didn't somehow mix up the caps/rods did you?

Set the cap on w/o bolts and see which side is hanging you up. Maybe the rod or the cap got bumped hard while cleaning. It only takes one goofed area or spot (burr) to mess up the alignment.

Maybe blue it with dykem or even a blue sharpie and bolt it together and see if you can find the spot.
