it drops off around 6300 rpms. i got 435rwhp out of the same heads and cam pkg with a conservative nitrous tune. 450 is deffinately not out of reach.

I shifted at 6,500 for the first time with it yesterday and it was still pulling hard. I have my limiter set at 6,800.

definitly get it tuned before you run it out...but the cam peaks @ 6300-6500 so shifting at 6800-7000 isnt out of the question just depends on how big your ***** are i guess fwiw my shift points will be set at like 6600 in my auto.

Mike at Rapid put my limiter at 7k and I have the light set for 6800. It pulls all the way to 7 strong as hell.

I have a couple of questions for you 231/237 guys.

1. Would I get enough out of this cam with 3.42 rear end? Another way to ask the question is, are you getting a lot of low-end torque?

2. How are you guys with 59cc heads doing with detonation. This chamber volume indicates 11:1 or more compression ratio.

3. Also, why are some of you using the 5.3 heads instead of the 5.7.

Thanks,
Tony

3.73's and up should be recommended as this cam is not a tq monster by any means especially down low. Im running 5.7's but only for the price...the 5.3's will give you a few extra ponies because of the added compression.

Thanks Bill. The reason I asked about the gears is because your sig says you're running 2.73's. Are you? If so, are you disappointed in the cam?

if i had a bigger stall I'd probably be better off...and gears would definitly help too...i had to dyno in 2nd because of them lol fwiw i had good mph #'s at the track but the car leaves pretty soft...id really recommend a 4400+ stall vert for an auto.

I would recommend either 3.73's or 4.10's with this cam. My car pulls hard with the 4.10's from a roll.

i have the 231/237 cam and love pulls hard all the way to 6800,
4:10 gears really make this cam pull like a mother broke pione
now im running the stock 3.42s dont fill like it pulls has harder but it still
pulls. i think it might be faster on street cause i can keep the tires from spinning so
dang much lol.

Moser 9" rear end robs 10-15hp. I used to have 400 even.
I'll take 390 with a 9" over 400 thru a 10 bolt any day. Most others here would also.
