intake choice

intake choice Hey I need your help with choice intake. Yes Ive been research ton of intakes. So far I know LS6 intake is better flow. I cant find a good deal package like fuel rail, throttle body, sensers, intake and fuel injectors together.
Which do you prefer Holley alum intake or Ls6 plastic intake or Fast. I know Fast is expensive though. I am doing project for my ls6 engine in my 92 s10pickup.
From my understanding the intake plastic is more cooler than alum due run hotter. See if someone can hit me up for this.
So far for my engine Im getting done-
compstar h beam 6.125 check
mahle piston/ rings package 3.905 check
Current brand new LS6 block check
I still look for good intake and heads maybe do prc 5.3 stage 2.5 from texas speed.

I like holley alum intake look like as ls6 design. I don't know much about BBK. I'm trying find whole package set up more easier for me to buy all together at once.
The GM truck intake outflows the ls6 intake. If you are putting it into a truck that is by far your best option/per dollar. You can buy them for next to nothing since they can only be used in trucks. The fast 102 truck intake is better than the GM intake. Do some research on the truck intakes and you will see. Even Tony Mamo with afr says the truck intake is a good intake.

What ever you do, don't get the BBK! I had my car dynoed with the stock intake and then I put on the BBK with no other changes and it lost about 15 hp and 20 tq throughout the mid-range and about .5 hp at peak 
So I sold that POS and swapped back to the stocker and just got around to ordering an LS6. Not saying my results will be the same as yours, but I'm just posting from experience.

Any aluminum intake is going to more prone to possible heat soak, but unless you hot-lap it at the drag strip, or run a road course event where you have the rpm's up high for prolonged periods, I doubt you'll have an issue with it. Furthermore if the weight is a issue for you, then drain the windshield washer reservoir, or remove the spare tire jack. IMO, the BBK is a good intake for the money.

Well I talked to Martin @Tick about it and he said he wasn't too surprised with the results. He said that without any tuning it should have gained at least a little bit. And the tuner tried different things with it but it didn't respond well to any changes at all.

Could have been a port misalignment issue or it wasn't sealing all the way. Won't be able to tell much on the internet. I like the aluminum intakes for the sake of porting. If your going to get an aluminum intake have it ported. Most of the time there are small casting shifts or it can benefit from sheer size and shape. LS6 intake is a nice intake for the money and you can't go wrong with it for mild setups.

I agree, I bought it used so it could have had a problem. All I've read on here about the BBK says good things but when I talk to guys that have tuned them and messed with them they don't have too much good to say about them. Again, could have just been a problem with mine but I was just stating my observations.
