Default jp adjustable timing chain question

Ok I did a search and came up with some answers. But I need to know about MY setup. I am running an LS9 camshaft. I see on the crank gear that it has marks to advance and retard the cam timing. With the crank gear mark on the keyway at 0* i then put the mark on the tooth that reads 0* at 12 o clock and line the cam gear dot up with the 0* mark correct for zero degrees of cam timing correct? Second question, is there any advantage to run more or less cam timing on an LS9 cam? This is in my twin turbo 5.3 I assume to just set it at zero and let the tuner do the timing in the tune?

A tuner cannot alter the cam timing, it can only be set/verified when installing your cam using the adjustable timing set and degree wheel.

Your "dot to dot" alignment appears correct based on description, however a photo would help.

Thank you guys very much. I know they can not alter cam timing but I just need to know if a stock timing set is actually set at 0 degrees from the factory.
