Default upgraded cam,springs,retainer/stock lifters & pushrods

I plan on a TR224 cam (heard it would pass emmsions) /918 springs tit. retainers, was told to use same stock lifters & use same stock push rods
same push rods are used as a fail safe if ever miss a gear and over rev a bent push rod is better than intrenal engine damage

does this sound correct

I don't buy that theory that the pushrod acts as a fuse. If your valve hits a piston, i don't think a pushrod bending is going to save it. That being said, i am planning on using my stock pushrods with my c1 cam just cause the ramp rates aren't that extreme.
