Default comp cam 54-530-11

is this cam any good? its going in a 2001 tahoe 4x4 i just want a lil power and chop lol and will my stock springs hold up?

No, don't use stock springs.
I'd at least you some LS6 valve springs, and you will not get any lope from that cam , since it has to much negative overlap (-25* OL).

I'd go with at least this cam: Comp Cams 54-408-11 (206/212 112lsa+2), it going to give you noticeably better power, but it still has to much negative overlap(-15*) to hear any lope.

well i traded it for some ls1 coils and i didn't have any money in those. will this cam feel better then the stock one, and will my truck give a good run against these truck loving red necks!! lol

Yeah should be, that small 202/212 116lsa should have more mid/upper rpm power then the stock cam.
So is this a 5.3 motor?

Ramp rate on that cam is 52 which is similar to XE Comp lobes and you'll certainly need springs, I would run PAC or PSI singles.

Yes, he's correct ls6 springs won't be enough I'd look at some PAC 1218's .
