What are these?-20130915_172408.jpg

What are this plastic pieces that are under the passenger side valve cover that clips into the cover. These are on 5.3 heads. This is also where the hoses go into on the same side valve cover. There are two of them. Im asking this because i got my valve covers powdercoated and as i was installing these back i noticed there was a crack on where it clips in. What is the purpose to these? Do i need to replace it? PN? If i put it in there now it doesnt stay and i do not want them clacking around on my rockers and springs.

I believe that is a filter cover for the pcv? If it does not hold by itself I would discard.

Its a baffle for the pcv system, removing it may cause oil consumption.

I just need to know a part number, or if i need these in there or not. Has anyone had this expirience? I kind of understand the purpose of these but dont know if it will affect performance or anything. i could see a little oil be consumed i just dont want it to be unsafe for my engine. Thanks in advance

The valve covers i have are a two port valve cover. I called the dealership and they say that they do not make these anymore. And the baffle is not sold seperately.

I would just swap over to an 04+ LS6 valley cover then it wouldn't matter as you would just cap off the valve cover ports and the baffles become a moot point.

My '04 5.3 motor did not include that baffle.
