Who has the best deal on a rotating assembly
Broke a ringland on my lq4. I think I want to just slap in some forged rods and pistons. Or is there any great deal on rotating assemblies? Dont really need a stroker but its not out of the question. I dont want to spend over 2k for everything.

I hurt my LQ9 and I am debating this issue as well. Stroker kit or just upgrade the pistons/rods.

A stroker is a great way to pick up cheap power. If you are already buying a crank then its never much more to do a stroker. Take a look at some of the kits we offer and if you have any questions let us know and we would be happy to help you out. If you dont want to do s stroker I would just reuse your stock crank and get rods and pistons. That should save you some money

It depends on how you look at it. For just the price of the assembly then you are right but if you pay someone to do the machine work etc., then a lot of times you can get a built motor for less.

Im starting a build as we speak and the difference in a rotating assembly vs a shortblock fwith the same assembly from TEXAS-SPEED is $2900. Machine work on a higher end scale should only be a third od that. 2k goes a long way on an fbody.

Also if your in a "just slap in" mode on a budget maybe a member here has a used forged assembly you can get for a deal and you just take to the machine shop and have them grind/polish & balance everything up and match up some bearing for all of it. Of course the machine shop in your area may be high in price so this wouldn't be an option in that situation.
Point is that you have several options it looks like from what all everyone is say...Use your Jedi Knight decision powers--the force is strong with you!
Curious what brand oil& oil filter did you use and what oil pressures were you seeing around the motor issue event? Was it a progressive event or a boom boom event? Was the motor at operating temp when it happen? Sorry for all the questions, you don't have to answer any of them I'm just a curious cat.
Sounds like a awesome car you got! I hope the best for ya and I hope my info helped in some way.

I bought my 408 from Texas Speed, yeah it did cost a little, but the quality of the work is outstanding! These guys specialize in LS motors and was well worth the wait and money. They will be getting my return business. However is you look through the classifieds or on some facebook groups, you can usually pick up a short block fairly reasonable.
