The 799's have a little rougher casting then the 243's. If you have then CNC ported then it really doesnt matter. There was a thread floating around that showed this in a few pictures and you could see it. I have the 799's and the castings a little rougher.

dont some of the front wheel drive cars with the LS4's (5.3) engine have the 243 heads?

The surface finish between 799 and 243 isn't a cement rule...my 799s were better castig than my 243s and they were from the same year...it all depends from head to head, which Is typical with mass production manufacturing...

I bought a set of 243s off ebay last week and didn't notice until today that mine had that same stamp on it.

It is BBJ cores out of Waco TX. It is just a stamp to ensure they are their heads if it is returned.

yes sir your correct.... bought a set of cores to be ported,, came with the skull and crossbones.... kinda cool... good dudes to buy from they ship same day you pay.... bought lots of stuff from...
