skull and cross bones stamp on 243 heads??

Default skull and cross bones stamp on 243 heads??
just bought a set of 243 heads off ebay and both heads have a skull and crossed bones stamp on them,anybody recognize this stamping??

243s aren't from a L33, 799s are. 243s are from an LS6 or LS2.

that's kinda what I was thinkin,or maybe the company I bought them from stamps them so they know they are theirs in case of a warranty claim..i think im gonna ask..

Do other heads have markings like this? It seems like a good way to identify who manufactured or worked on those heads.

I talked to the vendor I bought the heads from and they said they use that stamping on all their blocks and heads to verify its a piece they sold for warranty reasons..Case closed! lol

that's not what the description said,and yes 243's came on some 4.8's and 5.3's,look it up
Getting into semantics here. 243s and 799s are the same exact thing. Only difference is what engine they came from.

If they came from LS2s or LS6s they are called 243s, if they came from other engines they are called 799s.

Cool, didn't know that. Wonder what the point of the 799s is then when they're the same head and the new truck engine now come with either those or 243s...
