No mechanical work, just tune modification.

Ms4 114lsa is my choice . I have it on a 99 camaro with full bolts on 42ib injectores . Borla cat back. Tuned in with shitty fuel via efi live software. Car made 400 whp and drives great . Am enjoying it . Every time I pass 5th gear . I pass with 2 foots flame from my left exhaust . And spreds to all 4 tips while I let go of the gas....

That is probably the issue you're experiencing with the SS4000, your tranny maybe slipping due to the increased torque multiplication.

Do you have a tranny cooler on it?

Yes. A Hayden 679 not in loop with the radiator. I tapped the pan and put a sensor in and under normal circumstances it runs about 130-135*F.

Hmmm, because even with a stock cam performance is enhanced with that converter. I ran my SS3600 on my stockish LS2 before I went deep into it and I experienced better than stock stall response.

Don't get me wrong, if I get on it, it will move. But in normal traffic, it is a dog. I thought upgrading the cam would fix the problem. I was looking at the LS2 profile of the Tick SNS stage 2 for it.

Upgrading the cam will not help that problem...adding more gear will. Look into a set of 3.73's. I have a FTI3800 with 3.73's and the driveability is awsome. It takes about 500more rpm down low to get the same acceleration as the stock converter, not bad at all. 2000rpm accelerates like 1500rpm compared to the stock converter.
