Default Which Headers And Catback System????

Hi! Just brought a 99 Z28 (Stock LS1) and I am ready to gain more HP. Should I start with exhaust? If so what are a good set of headers at "BUDGET" Pricing? And will a Catback exhaust be better or True Duals?

Texas Speed makes some good budget headers, and if you can afford true duals then that would be a better overall choice

TSP 1 7/8" Stainless Steel and the TSP SS Y with the Magnaflow cat back here. Dont have it installed yet waiting on the motor to install to complete. But a couple of my buddies are running this setup and it sounds sweet. The TSP true duel's sound sweet as well, just a little loud for me.

I have Pacesetters, had them for a long time, if I was to buy some more headers it would be TSP's 1 7/8 longtubes. Depending on what you want for a catback depends on what you like for sound. I currently have a SLP LM1 catback, its extremely loud, I am probably going to switch it for a magnaflow muffler and a cutout down the road.

This really depends on how loud you want your car and what your budget is. Ive got tsp 1 7/8, ebay ss duals, flowmaster 10 series and theyll be dumped before the axle.

This is probably the best budget system you can get. Stainless all the way back, decent merge on the Y, and good catback that isn't super loud driving around but is when you go WOT. Also, it doesn't sound horrible with an off-road Y-pipe.

It was my first choice before I said f it and went with the Kooks true dual system.

Because people don't pay attention.

I wouldn't buy a Magnaflow catback, I've had one and it sounded like pure dog crap. A Jeg's catback is one of the most budget oriented and best sounding catbacks available.

Agreed on the Magnaflow. I had one on my Trans Am and it was simply too quiet for my taste.

I had a MagnaMouth on my Camaro before the duals and really liked it. There was a thread I did about it, just search. Had TSP 1 7/8" and their ORY.

When I had a Magnaflow and I drove past a guys house at light throttle, he immediately texted me and said "wtf is wrong with your car, it sounds awful" That's when I knew it had to go. Plus no one else liked it either.

I was between the Hooker aerochamber and Magnaflow. Went with the Magnaflow and really happy with the quality and most important how it sounds.

I bought pacesetters LTs and have 2.5 " TDs with X pipe that run over the axels with dual 10 series (race) flow masters. Sounds sweet IMO I like the chambered deep sound in an exhaust system, similar to old school muscle cars. IF I WERE going to do it again I would buy STAINLESS HEADERS from the beginning.
