Default Is this really the price range im looking at ???

ok i just ran a few numbers for h/c/i build with supporting mods and a tune and i came up with $3800 is that really the cost ???

list of parts :

ms4 cam
ls6 intake
port and polish TB
4:10 gears
ls7 clutch
ls6 oil pump
ls2 timing chain
ls6 heads
dual springs
ls7 lifters
arp head bolts
arp rod bolts
tune

not including Fluids , gaskets and other Expenses

I feel like it would be cheapier to sell my car and buy one already done !!

The parts add up quick! You're right....its easier to buy a new car lol. I honestly wish I just bought an LS7 rather than modding the LS1.

Is that with the labor to install or just the parts themselves?

ok i just ran a few numbers for h/c/i build with supporting mods and a tune and i came up with $3800 is that really the cost ???

list of parts :

ms4 cam $400
ls6 intake $300
port and polish TB $100
4:10 gears $250
ls7 clutch $400
ls6 oil pump $120
ls2 timing chain $125
ls6 heads $500
dual springs $300
ls7 lifters $140
arp head bolts $180
arp rod bolts $120
tune $500

just seems like a lot of money with really not much of a gain with $4000 on the line i feel like you should be able to break the 500rwhp mark goin another route then addin a hci package

This is why blower is the way to go. More power, even on a stock car, with a much higher ceiling for just a couple grand more.

I wish I went that route.

The thing is, alot of those items you are adding up are just "nice to do" on a high mileage engine. If you plan on keeping this car a while, you're going to end up doing them anyway at some point.

And don't think that boost is just slap on and forget for thousands of miles. If you think parts add up quick for a h/c/i, just wait until you start pricing out parts for the blower. Oh and then you still have to do alot of those supporting mods. Oh and then be prepared to have to forge the bottom end soon enough.

Yeah it's expensive, you have to pay to play.

Id look at some companies like Tick Performance or Scoggin Dickey Parts Center for their cam swap packages. It all adds up quick but some of them offer pretty good deals if your buying it all at once. You could also try to save a few bucks by picking parts up out of classifieds.

BTW I think I got my ls2 chain new from SDPC for like 42 bucks

Texas Speed has head and cam packages that will save you some money verses buying separately.

Why Ms4? Why an LS7 clutch? Stock LS6 heads? What are your goals for the car? Seems like a **** plan that you'd be disappointed with. Did you come here for advice? Help us with more info.
