Question Total newb, need spring tips/advice...

I've got a 5.3 out of an 02 Silverado, I bought a cam off of a member here... but I'm stumped on valve springs... What do I need to be looking for?

Cam specs: (from his ad)
225/232 duration @.50”
283/290 advertised duration
.586/.578 lift
114 LSA
110 ICL
Intake opens @ 2.5* closes @ 42.5*
Exhaust opens @ 54* closes @ -2*

I'm looking at these springs from another member, but think they might be excessive... but I'm not sure if that's possible? Can they be too stiff?

Comp Cams Dual Springs
26921-16
(no specs listed in ad, I just googled the part #...)

I've got 706 Heads, and just doing an NA right now... then moving on to turbo next year.

Let me know if you need any more info from me!

Yes those Comp 921s are good springs (properly installed). But rather expensive compared to what is available on the market.
Take a look at Brian Tooley springs (BTR), excellent craftsmanship and reliability. Very good price as well.

We sell A LOT of brian tooley racing valve springs. All of our cam kits come with them and Brian himself did testing on them when we was with TEA and said they outperformed everything they ran them against. I highly recommend them! If you are looking to buy a set new, we are having a sell on a lot of the items on our site this week and the springs are on that list Feel free to PM us with any questions!
