Default My observations after pulling my motor out (lifted a head):

First of all, it's not as hard to pull as people make it out to be. Time consuming, yes, but after unhooking everything, it came right out. I have some good pics.
There was dried coolant along the pasengers side head, running along under the intake, and also on the side of the head.
I took the heads off, and everything looked good, except for small spots of wet coolant on the gasket, which could have come from pulling the heads off. I did drain the coolant from the block, but?
What I noticed right away, was that the block still had the hone marks on each cylinder sleeve!! This motor has 20,000 miles on it, and about 10 bottles sprayed through it. So, I plan to get a different core and save this motor for my truck, if it ever craps out on me.
I'm no expert, but I did not see any signs of detenation on the pistons, or on the valves. The intake valve had carbon on it, but the exhaust valves were a different color, a light brown, as if it got hot enough to burn all carbon off those. Might have been the 10 bottles of the 150 shot

Now to get everything to ARE & get things rolling. All bore 393 on the way.

While you got the motor out you might as well slap in a tubular k-member. Its the best time to do it and its a piece of cake. I droped my entire engine cradle out in about 2 hours and thats with the shocks and brakes still hooked up.
The BMR unit is a nice lookin piece and worth the money. Just tell me if you want to take a peek at it.

I would like to take a peek at yours. Email me your #, I'll call next time I am in the area. Derty helped me pull the motor at his house, in GR, so I was just there. Thanks Steve!

I already ordered the ARE CM K-member

Are we gonna play this year??

After I get the car tuned in, I plan to start off slow, 100 shot, then 150, 200, 250, and when I run with you, I'm throwing at least 300 at it. Can you say new tranny? I should have had your brother build me a 400. Are you switching trannies?
