Default lq9 ptv clearence question

Im considering lunati cam for my lq9 and wonder if its safe ( I dont want to pull the heads to clay it) specs are 219/223 6.25/6.25 on 112lsa. Any one have any idea. I know I should check it to be sure but somone has to know where they get sketchy.

Are the heads milled?

No they arent. Its a junk yard engine im looking at to buy. So as far as I know they arent. Also wondering if id be beter off with lq4 with 243 heads and that cam. Im pretty set on that cam after seeing a graph. Lots of power under the curve. Loads torque. The graph im looking at is in ls1 tho

No valve clearance issues with that cam. Lots of guys running much larger cams than that one. You could even mill the heads and still have plenty or room. That is a small cam.

So you think it would be possible to clear ai 243s later down the road with that cam?

243s don't have any less valve clearance than your 317s. The valve location is the same. I have 243s on my car.

I havent done any head cam ls stuff yet. My last car was bolt on car thats in my cig. I figured main difference was just combustion chamber. Thanks for your help!
