241 castings to 317's
Ok here's the story. about a year ago I bought stage 1 heads from JPR pop hose babies on their and to my surprise I made the same numbers I did Cam only(Joe sold me stock Heads) Now I am out $1400 and I am looking for a cheap alternative. I will not spend another 1400 for heads. I can get some 317 castings fairly cheap and I was wondering if there would be any noticable gain over my shady JPR 241 castings.

In stock form - no. The 317 castings have a larger combustion chamber and will drop your compression to about 9.5:1. This will negate any marginal increase of a slightly better flowing port.

If I could find a cheap set of ls-6 heads would that do anything? I am really only looking to pick up another 15-20 Rwhp from these. That is why I went with a stage 1 head to began with. Do you think that is possible?
