If you want torque, small bore ls3 heads on a 408.

What do you consider a "load"?

4500lbs isn't that heavy.
A well assembled 4L60E without any fancy parts should handle what you are talking about no problem and has a better first gear and overdrive than the 4L80.

How is the vehicle used?

Based curb on my sedan is 4060lbs and my wagon is more like what your truck weighs so I have experience with making a porky vehicle quicker.
