Can I install 1.8 rollers when I install a GM Hot Cam? 2002 Firehawk, stock.

Tough one eh?... lol Cam card says 1.7, just wondering if the 1.82's are going to have any clearance issues. Its a small cam, I don't think they will, but some experience here would be nice

Aftermarket rockers on the gen 3plus engines are generally more hassle and expense than they are worth. They are HEAVY compared to stock making for less available rpm with a given spring.

I would sooner use an aftermarket cam with more lift and do the trunnion upgrade on stock rockers. I think you will find just about everyone will agree with me.

The upping rocker ratio being a standard bolton died with the old LT1.

I am not saying aftermarket roller rockers are always bad but I am saying yours is not the right application for them.

You can as the hot cam only has .525 lift with 1.70. You will need to change the springs to LS6 or LS2 ones.

I have read about the trunnion upgrade. Bro is keeping it GM, hes like that, but if he went to the next GM cam it would require valve reliefs. Going to be doing heads and long tubes and thought that the 1.8's might help a little. If there is that kind of weight difference then I think I'll tell him to do the upgrade to the stock ones when he does the heads. It is the kit that he got so there are a new set of LS6 springs going in with it. Thanks for the info guys

Stay with stock rockers & trunnion upgrade, I have just taken my H/S rockers off because of bad harmonics, ie: weight
