Fresh Block from Machine Shop
I have some questions on the Ls1 block I purchased this is my first attempt at the ls based engine build. I have a 2001 ls1 block I bought that is from the machine shop along with the block I have a crank, what I believe is a set of rpm forged rods with arp bolts, and a set of probe forged pistons all the rotating assembly is balanced. I have been reading on the oil galley plugs and coolant plugs but keep coming up with several different part numbers and quantities / locations. The local gm dealer was little to no help on what I need. Any help would be great also I was thinking of ordering a manual to assist in this process like building and modifying ls engines
Thanks Bobby

Get with Texas Speed and Performance for the galley plugs and coolant plugs, and don't forget the "barbell". As for the manual, the book that I refer to is "How to Rebuild GM LS Series Engines" by Chris Werner, and it has helped me with my build.

I hope this helps, and good luck!
