I have to complete a final project for my solid modeling class. We have to design a system. That doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a system consisting of moving, mechanical parts. It could be something for which we could model the flow of air, fuel, etc. I've come here to see if anyone has any suggestions of any ideas of parts or systems, relating to LS cars, or any vehicle for that matter, that they would like to see rendered. I also posted this in the Advanced Engineering section, but thought it would get more hits here.

cutaways showing a moving LS valvetrain would be very interesting in my opinion. You could model an aftermarket camshaft and show concepts like peak lift, PTV, roller rockers vs stock rockers, etc.

 

Yea cylinder head model with valve train would be pretty cool

 

Nothing better than seeing a whole rotating assembly working in a solid model. In my solidworks class i used a hydraulic power unit with a gear pump and some manifold/valve assemblies.
