234/242 .600/.615 114+4 or 112+4. Had the 114 LSA in my 346, has lots of light load low rpm surge/jerk. Then reused the same cam installed at 114 in my 418, only slightly better drive-ability.

Now I have a EPS 234/242 .600/.615 117+2. This cam has 4* overlap vs 10* of the G5X3 cam. Car drives 10x better, has more mid range to top end power. Still has more than enough bottom end power with 3.42 gears.

That's pretty much spot on. It's a Comp Cams XE-R lobe cam.

I have an EPS 234/242 as well... but on a 111+3. It has 16 degrees of overlap...

Bucking and surging with an x3 112 or 114 is all in the tune...I had it on a 112 and it drove damn near stock with power everywhere. Amazing camshaft! I do have access to the best tuner in the country though....

Fwiw mine specd out at 234/243 .598/.611 111.5 +4

And so does Brian Tooley... 235/242 111...

Notice a pattern?

It's a really great profile for these motors and makes a ton of power. Probably the best overall mix of all out performance, power delivery everywhere, and decent streetability.

I was thinking they were copying the tried and true GM "847" 234/242 profile...

Pretty much my experience. Pulls good up top, but not a lot of power down low, and a lot of cam surge/jerk.

I hope this is true. My car is still unturned, but its getting dyno tuned this Thursday, so I guess I'll report back to if drivability changes.

If you're driving that cam untuned, that's why it sucks. That's a big nasty cam and the car should be pretty angry on the stock tune.

^ what he said. I was running the G5x4 in my last car, bucked and carried on with a well known tuner on this site. Took it to a guy that actually knew what he was doing and I could put the car in 6 gear @ 40mph and had no issues. The LG motorsports cams really do make nice power. My car made 433 rwhp with stock 853's going through a 9"

I hope you didn't change injectors when you did the cam swap.

Running this cam. Love it, lopes and pulls very hard! I am still working on tuning the bucking and surging issue.

Well guys I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with the G5x3, right now as it sets the mods are a LS6 Intake, 2002 28.8 lb injectors, Port and polished TB, SLP lid, SLP MAF, the cam springs and pushrods, Mac mid tubes, ory, SLP LM exhaust, centerforce clutch and drill mod for know, and 4.11s in a stock 10 bolt but as soon as I get the money the 10 bolts getting yanked out and I'm gonna go with a 9''. What do you all think?
