Default Larger valves in 862 heads lower compression?
Hey i was just wondering if anyone knew if putting the larger 2.00" valves in an 862 head would lower the compression from unshrouding the larger valve and possibly adding cc's to the chamber?..or maybe i'm an idiot...

You are correct, however, the chamber will still be smaller than an ls1 head

It depends on the valvejob. My cutters take a lot out of the chamber and add volume, but nothing crazy. I think the last 862 I put 2.00" valves in, the chamber ended up at about 62cc.

I'm not trying to hi-jack here but is there enough material in the stock valve seats to recut for the 2.00" valves??

Yes. You can even go to 2.02" if you wanted to.
