These Trend Performance pushrods are recommended for street or racing applications where and extremely strong pushrod is required. They have a .080 wall thickness and are finished in black oxide. They are 5/16 in diameter and 7.400 in length.

7.4 is the length to use with unmilled heads. you can pick up a set for like 110 from TR.

I personally run the Thunder Racing hardened pushrods, I've never had any issues with bending them that is the correct length 7.4 TR pushrods are a $100.00.

i dont remember the exact thickness and diameter, hence why i stated to just get some PR from TR, takes all the guess work out of it. im running them w/o problems.

Can you be more specific? I don't understand what the big deal is with running stock pushrods on a medium sized cam? Is there gonna be power left on the table from pushrod flex or are you saying they're gonna bend or what?

You hit the nail on the head, Power left on the table, stock ones will deflect at higher rpms, and lose you some HP, and over time become weaker and much more chance of bending.

Pushrods bend from a missed shift. I ran stock pushrods for a long time and never had a problem. I finally upgraded them when I installed my XE-R cam, due to the extreme ramp rates. Stockers were fine with my TR cam too, and my buddy who is now running it in his truck is using his stock PRs.

jaywoo, what size of cam and what type of springs did your friend's car have? And was that from a missed shift? I think i'm going to use my stock pushrods for a while with my c1 cam and 918's. Maybe i'll even do a before and after dyno if i switch pushrods to see if i was losing power.

Crap, well during my camswap today i pulled the pushrods and found out one of the pushrods is slightly bent. I don't know if the previous owner overreved it or if they're really just that weak. At least i don't have to decide whether or not i want hardened ones now.

Pushrods only bend from missed shifts...there isnt really that much load on them when using a stock valvetrain.
