Cam and Head question from a newb..
I have the opportunity to get a set of 243 heads that have been ported and polished and a cam with the following specs- .588/.595 intake/exhaust lift, 228/232 duration on a 114 lsa.
Would this make a good combo combo for a carbed build?
I am also able to get a 4l60e tranny that has been mildly built and am wondering what issues I may run into with the install or should I just go old scholl and drop a th400 in?
As a side note I am trying to do this build as economical as possible.
Thanks in advance for a helping a newb!
ideal for your 5.3...if it's a good deal you could use at least a 3600 stall
converter in the 4l60 trans and it should run out decent if the carb is tuned
properly.
I am getting a pretty good price on the heads so I don't mind spending some extra for a cam that would be ideal for the 5.3.
requires a bit different specs on the cam. You have plenty of choices here...
Geoff @ EPS, Texas Speed, Martin @ TICK performance, Ed Curtis, Brian
Tooley, Alan Futral...take your pick, make a few calls, and spend your money
how you want...You WILL be happy with anyone of these choices.
