Default Am I being ripped off?!

Ok I sent a set of heads (stock ls1) for a valve job with 2 sets of Manley Valves (2.02, 1.60) with a stock lenght. The place calls me and says that the 1.60 would not fit the seat, even if they where to cut the seat. I was told that the 1.60 is the biggest u could go without going with a larger seat? Then I get another call saying that my 2.02 (stock length) valves are too short and would not fit, so I have to go with their valves for both. Sounds like they are trying to get me for every penny off this valve job, but again I may be wrong.

Does this sound right to you? Before I point any fingers I just wanted to get some feed back

Assuming you have stock length 2.02" valves, they should fit. As for the 1.60" exhaust valve, I have been told the same by two different shops - 1.57" is the largest that will fit in the stock seat.

Where is your shop located? The thing is the shop told me that they could place the 1.60s in,hint the reason why I bought them in the first place. So looks like I have a set of valves up for grabs
