Did you put in the new oil pump during the cam install? If so, you may have torn the o-ring putting the pickup tube back on. Some people will say that pressure is fine, and theoretically it is, but I wouldn't call it exactly normal.

If the pump is only ported it won't increase pressure, it would need to be ported and shimmed. Aka blueprinted lol you blueprint a house not a pump...anyway porting only increases volume not pressure...IMO if that's the same pressure you had before then it is what it is...should be fine these motors have never been known for amazing oil pressure. What weight oil you running?

If you're seeing the same pressure as you were before the install then I doubt anything went wrong while camming it. I don't see the cam being an issue at all in this either, and it couldn't be the oil pump if you've changed oil pumps without seeing a change in pressure.

I'd say carry on and maybe even hook up a mechanical gauge to see if it's your sending unit or electronic gauge dying, which is possible.

With 6 others that had about the same pressure, I don't even see the reason for questioning it. Drive it you stole it.

i've seen worse survive. my fathers car has about 15psi at idle (bearings were left alittle lose on the build) but once he's over 2000rpms its over 40. rule of thumb is 10psi per 1000rpm increase.

i've seen STOCK ls1 cars idle as low as 18psi. its all about how quickly the pressure rises with rpm that matters

if its been this way since you bought it, i wouldn't even be concerned

*** on a side note, is your temp gauge broken? i see its stone cold. not good reving the car like that cold. and as the car warms up the oil pressure will only get worse as the oil gets hot and thins out

To me that's on the low side but acceptable.
