Default A little info please

Got a 5.3 from a 2000 chevy truck. It's really tight turning over, owner said it seized up idling and just quit. Thought I tear it down and see what happened. It turned over to get conv bolts out, so that's a plus. Will these heads make decent power with a bigger intake valve and some bowl and port work? If I go with injection, what injectors and will the intake do for now? I would like to make 500 HP, NA, if I could. If the crank is junk, it's a candidate for a stroker. Any suggestions would be appreciated, this is my 1st LS. It's going in my 51 5 window truck, 3,42 gear, auto with aftermarket conv.

If it seized at idle, I would imagine at minimum there is bearing damage, if your lucky bearing and polish on the crank. What do you think? An oil pump failure?

Thanks for the help, I'm thinking bearing problem, possible oil pump failure. Won't know until I tear in to it. The fact that it turns over still gives me hope. I have 0 cash in this, so it's worth a shot. Been trying to buy another 2000, 2500 trk, 6.0, 4x4, std shift. Thought I'd missed it but the guy told me today that the ins company still hasn't settled, trk is hit in frt. Hopefully I'll get it too. Have to wait and see.
