Hey looking for a better cam but don't know what cam to go with specs are a 5.3 cast iron block, stock bottom end heads are 706's I am going with a LS1 intake, right now I have a LS1 cam 496/496 lift. I would like to go with a bigger cam, I can get a 234/233 598/598 lift, do you think this cam is to big for the stock 706's? What would be the best cam for me?

 

I think something along the lines of a 228r would work great, that is just one of many choices, the 234/233 .598/.598 is to large for your setup IMO

 

^^^^^^ I agree,228 would be max because you have a 5.3. You might talk to Martin at Tick just my opinion. If you cam too big you will loose power.
