Carbon buildup I'm starting an engine swap into a 59 apache. My junkyard takeout ls has carbon buildup in intake and intake ports on heads. I'd rather not pull the heads. What's the best way to clean the ports on the heads?

I'm worried about all that carbon dropping into the cylinders as I clean the ports on the heads. Heads are on the motor. Do u just stuff a rag down port and hope u can get most of the stuff out without dumping into engine?
