DIY head porting question

DIY head porting question Doing mild port work on a set of 243 heads. How much material is on the long side between the seat and guide on the exhaust port. Looks like a lot could go away but thought I'd ask.
The 243 head is already such a great flowing head that most people that DIY
them just blend the bowls and streamline the exhaust guide boss. On the IN
side they knock the rocker boss out and the swirl ramp next to the guide as
well as blending the bowls. All this and a quality valvejob wil typically add 20
or so cfm to a head that already flows 260/190...remember to NOT polish the
intake runner smooth.
