9k budget where to start?

Hey guys I'm starting to plan a new build for my trans am. Im working with 9k MAX budget for the whole build so that would have to cover the complete long block intake mani,tb,injectors and clutch included. But there are SO many different ways to go. I want to stay all motor no nitrous. As far as goals I want to dip into the 10's and make above 500rwhp. Obviously I could call tsp or someone and they could set me up with something but I'd like to know more or less what I'd need to start with which motors to stay away from and so on before I start throwing money at my car. So let em rip guys 9k for a complete motor what would y'all build any advice would be much appreciated!

My next build I'm going Turbo.. I'm doing a 383 custom cam fast 92/92 ported Ls6 heads and other mods trying to get 500 out of that setup

use your current block to build a ls 383 .get some trick flow or Texas speed prc 225 cast heads .consider some AFR 210 heads if budget allows .buy a fast 102 intake ,and get some 42# injectors .get a custom cam ,last !
