Default ATAP/LS1-edit whats the advantages?

I'm in the process of a 224/224 .581 112 cam only install. The shop doing the work was running a little behind schedule, so they offered me a full dyno tune using ATAP for $200. Or my other option is a different shop using full LS1-edit with their dyno tune for $500.

Both shops are very well known sponsors/vendors here on the forum.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES OF BOTH??????

Atap is a scanner not an editor. He needs an HP tuner or an open version of ls1 edit to flash your pcm. Forget the shop with atap... he BSing you.

I'm just guessing it was ATAP "only" since that is what I saw on his lap-top when he dyno tuned my friends car.

Other than LS1-edit what else is used for tuning?
