I know that there are better factory heads out there but I was wanting to ask who's running the 806 heads and what cam would you recommend for daily driving and some racing? my car is a 98 ss,the engine is still all stock and was thinking of doing a cam upgrade. thanks for the help.

im running a stock 806 heads and 222/224 cam. they are the worse flowing heads out of the bunch. id focus on the cam first then the heads to match. the cam choice will affect how it drives more then the heads. also a good tune would benefit the most. how are you wanting to drive the car. mostly daily or weekend car???

^What this guy said, depending on if your an automatic or manual match the cam to your stall. I have speed incs SI5 cam in my 98 Z28 with the stock 806 heads, and I like it. I'd say its a little more than mild but its got a nice chop to it, and drive ability isn't to bad

iv read that ported 806 heads are like unported 241 heads. and ported 241 heads are like unported 243 heads. id worry about the cam/stall choice. thats where you will get the post power and 60ft gains from.

I have a '98 SS (27,000 miles) as well with bone-stock 806 heads. When I cam I'm going with a Tick SNS torque max stage 1. It's pretty small but the torque it produces down low and in the mid-range is great as well as drivability. You can find these cams on their website...

This is untrue. Ported 806 and ported 241 heads would be the same. 806 ported are much better then non ported 241 heads. Also ported 806 or 241 heads will be better then stock 243 heads

Is the car a six-speed or automatic? If its an auto do you have any plans for an aftermarket torque converter?

yeah I'm wanting a stall maybe in the coming years. I drive this car everyday so I don't want a big stall(I hate the lag when you speed up to pass someone) I was thinking oh like a 2600-3000 or so. you guys are at the top of the list on heads when I get to that point.
