The TR230 will be OK for spray, so long as you dont start spraying too low. I almost sprayed this cam btu changed my mind. If you dont have the cam yet and want to spray, look into a standard pattern or traditional split cam
I have that cam and its great. 
It idles very well with good tuning. Its a middle of the road cam now, compared to some of the huge cams out there. I don't think the trade offs associated with a bigger cam would be worth the loss in drivability, so I'm sticking with my TR230/224.

I really like my tr 230. very broad almost flat tq and hp curves. sprayed with a 100 wet shot the hp & tq curves mirrors the gas only with the tq being higher. 469 rwhp and 521 tq on spray. this cam iks good only up to a 150 shot. 393 rwhp and 385 tq through cats and stock tb. I have heads and headers.
