1998 z/28 needs motor replaced

Default 1998 z/28 needs motor replaced

My motor let go vented block found a 2001 motor will it work new to the Ls scene will any short block work and will heads interchange I know valve covers are different thanks

Yes swap the 98 heads/ valve covers over to it.

Everything else will bolt up normally

Knock sensor, cam or crank is different too. And the 2001 came with a 2 wire sensor in the head for temperature. Change those 3 sensors and you're good. I'd change over every sensor though

This is what I did when I swapped in a 2000 motor into my 98. Put the 98 sensors and fuel injectors on the new one and itll be good to go.
