The LS intake gaskets are pretty nice and a lot more forgiving than gen 1 motor stuff.

excellent point, the nominal quench is one thing, but the actual worst-case quench is tighter when considering piston rock. I think I measured about 0.015" of piston rock at TDC on my motor.
