Camshaft choice?
Camshaft choice? Happy New year to everyone! I would like some input on a camshaft for my 408 stroker with an ls3 top end. This will be a street/strip vehicle but not a daily driver. Heads will be equipped with .650 dual springs. Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Without a lot more info about your setup and preferences, it will be hard to suggest anything specific. I would suggest something around a 238-245 intake and 250-258 exhaust. Big split to account for the ls3 heads. Probably around a 112-114 LSA.
If you want some more serious suggestions let us know what cc the heads are, what pistons you are running, head gasket thickness, intake your using, what kind of idle you want, transmission type and stall speed if auto, what rpm you plan to run and anything else you can think of. ;-)

Not so big as to be a problem to tune or require high RPM, and probably still provides a lot of torque and a wide powerband on a 408.
