Default heads and cam

I've got a set of 243 heads I'm thinking of sending to advanced induction or is there a better head and cam package for around 2000 I could get? It's for an 02 ws6 with lt headers and 373 gears

AI or TEA both do amazing head work. Can't go wrong with either of them.

AI has heads/cam combos on their site.

TEA can recommend cam specs or do what i did...I went with a set of TEA heads and called Martin Smallwood at Tick performance and had him spec a custom cam for me. he worked hand in hand with TEA to make sure my heads were set up properly for the cam.

The customer service was absolutely top notch.

Heads - ~1200
Cam - 400

be sure to add in a trunion upgrade for your stock rockers, new gaskets, all the misc stuff, pushrods, etc...

You should come in right around ~2500 to do it right the first time and be in the ballpark of ~450whp...conservatively...especially since you'll be starting with 243's and higher compression compared to me and my 241 head package...

I bought some 243 and sent to TEA. I would do it again.

Your dyno #s are going to depend on what trans you have, what kind of dyno, and who's dyno it is.

Fubar above has good info.

Since you already have the heads i'd just send them to AI and have them worked over. They're gonna make great power with the right cam and intake

Just send the heads out to ai or tea. That's my plan in the long run. If you're looking for a cam too, I've heard Martins customer service with custom cams is very top notch, Brian Tooley is also someone you'll want to talk to. I recommend his springs, heard nothing but good things about his stuff. Give both of these guys a call and let them help you set everything up right the first time.

Also, you'll want to check your pushrod length to make sure everything is perfect.

stop ordering parts and start doing research, you aren't going to find anyone knowledgeable who is going to say calling the catalog company for kit is a good idea, power, or bang for the buck wise. The AI and TEA suggestions here will make a LOT more power for the same or less money.

TEA also does a nice TFS As Cast 220cc head. We sell it with powdered metal guides for use with stock rocker arms and PAC springs for 1975.00 shipped.

which would be a better option than the Summit directly which would need heavy roller rockers at substantial extra cost.
