Honestly this is a subjective question. No such thing as too big IMO. It comes down to how much can you tolerate? Obviously monster cams have terrible low speed street manners but hey it if doesn't bother you then go for it.

This.

It's all subjective and you usually won't know until you actually drive it. I DD my car with a SS3600, 3.73s and a MS3 cam. Gas mileage sucked in the city, highway it was fine and I had no bucking and surging issues usually.

But it was also a cam that required more attention to detail and was on the side of max effort and as Jake said other things come into play for it to shine. If you aren't willing to do those things I'd go with the milder setup as you'll be happier and the car will run better.

Nothing worse than a shitty running setup. I know first hand lol

Martin specd me a 231/235 cam. It's actually the smaller of the two he suggested. But it made right at 400rwhp through 3800 stall, and drives real good even with stock 3.23s

Martin undoubtedly knows his ****, and I have nothing but respect for him, which is why I'm getting a cam from him.

I'm doing a 231/237 this spring, from what I have read it will do just fine on the street.

Torquer v2 228/232 makes really good power and has good driveability. Personally, I would go with that one.
