Default cam selection time

So I have my lq4 with cleaned up (milled just enough for a flat sirface)243s and a stock head gasket. I was wondering if anybody with a similar combo could give me some advise on a good drivable cam that would get me in the 400 rwhp range(more would be a bonus) through an m6. Car will have ls6 intake and full exhaust.

A M6 car will dyno higher than an A4, so remember that. How drivable a cam is depends on how good the tune is, and also depends on the person. What is streetable to me may not be streetable to you. There are plenty of "off the shelf" cams that can get you to your HP goal. The original Streetsweeper from Ed Curtis (Flowtech Inductions) would be a really good choice in my opinion. You could also get there with the SNS Stage 3 cam from Tick Performance, or one of the Torquer cams from Texas Speed. Then, there are the Vengeance series of cams like the VRX 4 and 5 that would work. Best thing for you to do do a bunch of searching on here (there is tons of info applicable to your situation) and see how the dyno graphs look and find out from the owner how well the car drives.

I like the specs of the vrx5. Operating range seems perfect for my intended street use. Might see a track twice a year and will drive daily in the summer the weather permits. Looks like it will meet my power goals too. Will have it tuned professionally at west bend dyno tuning here in Wi.

I'd get a professional opinion from a sponsor. Like phoenix said their is so many choices out there it's pretty over whelming at first. Just do you research and like anything don't jump the gun at the first thing you think you'll like

Or, you could take the guess work out and have one spec'd out for you by someone who does this type of thing for a living. As long as you are up front with what your are looking for and tell them exactly what mods you have and what your goals are, you won't be disappointed.

We'd be more than happy to spec a custom grind camshaft for you, and the cost is the same as any of our other off-the-shelf cams. You can find the order form HERE. The $20 for the form is credited towards the purchase price of the camshaft. Give us a call if you have any questions on your setup!
